Hurricane River Campground is located 12 miles (19 km) west of Grand Marais in Michigan’s Alger County along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. This rustic backcountry campground offers 21 sites all with picnic tables, fire rings, grill grates and tent pads. Single vehicles no more than 36 feet and vehicle/trailer combined length no more than 42 feet are recommended. Hiking east on the North Country Trail for 1.5 miles (2.4 km) leads you past shipwreck remnants to the historic Au Sable Light Station.
