Difficulty: Moderate (due to stairs)
Sable Falls Trail is located near Grand Marais in Michigan’s Alger County. This is a 1.2 mile (2 km) out and back trail on the eastern portion of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The trail has a set of stairs that take you down 200 steps to the base of the falls. The hiking trails continue down the canyon past the falls and follows the creek to Sable Falls beach on Lake Superior. Pets are allowed on leash.
Travel Directions: From Grand Marais drive 0.9 miles (1.6 km) on H-58, turn at the Sable Falls sign and follow the signs to a large parking lot.
