Sable Falls is located near Grand Marais in Michigan’s Alger County on the eastern portion of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. From the parking lot a set of stairs with 168 steps leads you to the base of the falls. The waterfall cascades 75 feet (23 m) over the sandstone formations of Sable Creek. If you like, you can continue along the creek to Sable Beach on Lake Superior.
Travel Directions: From Grand Marais drive 0.9 miles (1.6 km) on H-58, turn at the Sable Falls sign and follow the signs to a large parking lot.
