Sand Point Beach is located 4 miles (6.4kms) northeast of Munising in Michigan’s Alger county. This is a sandy beach on the shore of Lake Superior on Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. This beach was named one of the “Top Five Summer Beaches in America” and it’s easy to see why. With it’s soft white sand and views of Munising Bay, Grand Island, and the East Channel Lighthouse it truly has it all. Sand Point Beach is sort of tucked away behind Grand Island thereby giving shelter from some of the gusty winds and cold waves that you sometimes get with the mighty Lake Superior. This makes it the perfect place for swimming, sun bathing, and all round summer fun at the beach. There are picnic tables, grills, public restrooms, the Pictured Rocks ranger station.
