Split Rock Lighthouse is located within Split Rock Lighthouse State Park along Minnesota’s North Shore, about 20 miles north of Two Harbors. First lit in 1910, this iconic 54-foot lighthouse sits atop a 130-foot cliff overlooking Lake Superior and remains one of the most photographed landmarks on the Lake Superior Circle Tour. Visitors can explore historic exhibits, the keeper’s home, and original outbuildings, and climb the spiral staircase to the lantern room for sweeping views of the shoreline.
Guests can experience the site at their own pace or join guided tours led by costumed interpreters, which bring to life the stories of the lighthouse’s construction and the daily work of its keepers. Seasonal programming and special tours throughout the year offer even more ways to connect with this historic North Shore landmark.
