Iron River is located in Wisconsin’s Bayfield County. It has a population of 1,134 and at the turn of the century, was logging town when trains made several trips a day between Superior and Hurley hauling logs. The trains have been replaced by the Tri-County Recreational Corridor, a 62 mile (99.7 km) ATV trail that connects Ashland to Superior. With a diverse terrain of mixed hardwoods and many lakes and rivers, the area provides a home for an incredible array of wildlife. Carefully developed four season trails make Iron River an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. The area is also famous for the annual Lion’s Blueberry Festival held the 4th weekend of July.
