Au Train Falls is located about 10 miles (16 km) southwest of Munising in Michigan’s Alger County. This waterfall is s set of two drops on the Au Train River – the Upper and Lower falls. The Upper Falls has a drop of about 40 feet (12.2 m) and the Lower Falls is 10 feet (3 m). Au Train River has been dammed above the falls so the flow can vary. These falls are best visited in the spring or after a heavy rain. If you are on your way to see Laughing Whitefish Falls, this is a quick and easy stop for stunning falls.
Travel directions: From Munising go south on M-94 for 15 miles. Turn north up CR-533 – Forest Lake Road. Look for the sign for the falls and turn right. Continue until you reach a parking area.
