The Attikamek Trail is located in Sault Ste. Marie in Ontario’s Algoma Country. This is a 1.6 mile (2.5 km) loop trail that begins at the Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site across the Lock gates on South St. Mary’s Island. This Island can be explored by foot or bike and visitors will experience incredible wildlife viewing in the wooded areas and wetlands. Look out for herons, ducks, frogs, racoons, squirrels and much more wildlife that inhabit the island. You will also walk under the International Bridge along this scenic trail.
