The Soo Locks is the busiest lock system in the world having around ten thousand ships come through annually. The Locks connect Lake Huron to Lake Superior through the St. Mary’s River. The park is a place where visitors get the opportunity to watch ships utilizing this lock system. Get an up close look at freighters going by at the observation platform and visit the Soo Lock Visitor Center beside the park and learn about the locks and the significance of shipping on the Great Lakes. The park features a beautiful fountain that lights up at night and dances along with music. During the summer months there is weekly evening concerts in the park by local performers.
