The Sault Ste. Marie International toll Bridge spans 2.8 miles (4.5km) crossing over the St. Mary River connecting Canada to the United States, between Sault Ste Marie twin cities in Ontario and Michigan. This bridge was first open is 1962 and sees an average of 7,000-10,000 vehicles crossing this border bridge daily. When going over this bridge you’ll have spectacular views of the St. Mary’s River and the Soo Locks. Only cash or cheque is accepted at the toll both, have your passport ready. Check their website for current toll fees for your classification of vehicle. Bicycles are permitted to go over the bridge though are warned to exercise caution as there isn’t designated bike lanes. An annual International Bridge Walk is held where participates have the opportunity to walk across this substantial international bridge.
