Big Bay State Park located on Wisconsin’s Madeline Island which is the largest of the 22 Apostle Islands and was originally established as of 1963. Big Bay State Park and is known for beautiful caves, cliffs, and rock formations. Big Bay State Park is on the of Southwest shores Lake Superior within the Apostle Islands along County Highway H throughout Madeline Island. To get to and from the park Madeline Island offers a ferry service and has an airport on the island.

If you wish to boat into the island yourself you have to consult the Coast Guard at Bayfield for Lake Superior navigation information. The park is open year round from 6 am to 11 pm. Big Bay State Park has 60 available camping sites and 51 of those are reservable so if you would like to reserve a campsite please visit the website.  There are 15 of these sites have electrical hookups however there are public washrooms and showers available and pets are allowed but must be on a leash at all times and supervised.
