Slate River Falls is located about 11 miles (17.7 km) east of L’Anse in Michigan’s Baraga County. This waterfall is the largest of several drops within Slate River at 25 feet (7.6 m). It has two angled streams flowing down craggy rock.
Travel directions: From L’Anse take Broad Street to Main Street and turn right. Main Street turns into Skanee Road once you leave town. You can park on either side of the bridge over Slate River and follow the river upstream to the falls. Also visit Slate River’s Black Slate Falls and Quartzite Falls.
