Quartzite Falls is located about 11 miles (17.7 km) east of L’Anse in Michigan’s Baraga County. It is one of several drops within the scenic Slate River. Here the river flows over slate rock ledges and a flat slide into a deep pool. Also visit Slate River’s Black Slate Falls and Slate Falls.
Travel directions: From L’Anse, turn off Skanee Road onto Arvon Road and continue for 3.4 miles (5.5 km). Take a left and park near the wooden logging bridge. From there the falls can be reach by a short easy trail through the cedar forest.
