Round Island Point Nature Preserve Trail is located in Brimley in Michigan’s Chippewa County. This trail is a 1.6 mile (2.6 km) loop within this protected habitat in the Upper Peninsula. The preserve offers ample nature viewing opportunities for hikers. It is within a major flyway for migrating waterfowl as well as many other birds. Hiking here is good for all skill levels with some nice views of the bay.
Travel directions: Go south from Sault Ste Marie on Hwy 75 until exit 392. Travel about 1 mile and turn left on 20th St. and travel 3 miles. Turn right on 6 Mile Rd. Go 5 miles and turn right on Birch Point Rd. Go half a mile and look for signs on the right. Turn right onto the paved S. Winding Ct. Follow 1 mile to parking and trail head at the end.
