The Nipigon Waterfront is located in Nipigon in Ontario’s Superior Country in Lake Superior’s Nipigon Bay. This waterfront has picnic areas, a pavilion and playground, perfect for stopping for lunch by the water. A tower viewer on an observation deck grants you incredible up close views of the Nipigon River Bridge, adjacent Dog Head Mountain, the local wildlife and the Nipigon River. The trailhead access for the 6.2 mile (10 km) Nipigon River Recreation Trail is located here as well as fishing piers and a protected area to observe the western painted turtles in their natural habitat. For those wanting to paddle, motor or sail on the famed Nipigon River and Lake Superior there is a fully serviced marina, a paved boat launch, and kayak launch dock. There is also RV and tent camping available at this waterfront equipped with electrical, water hook ups and comfort station.
