Chapel Rock and Beach is located about 15 miles (24kms) east of Munising in Michigan’s Alger County in Pictured Rock National Lakeshore. It is about a 3 mile (4.8kms) hike from the trail head at the end of Chapel Road to get to. The hike to the beach offers amazing views of Chapel Lake and/or Chapel Falls. Once at the sandy beach you will see Chapel Rock, a remnant of sandstone that was carved by Lake Nipissing high water in the Cambrian age 3800 years ago. There is a white pine tree on the top of Chapel Rock that is estimated to be around 250 years old.
