Red Chairs – Porphyry Island is located on the eastern side of the Black Bay Peninsula about 25 miles (40 km) east of Thunder Bay in Ontario’s Superior Country. A 0.8 mile (1.3 km) path leads you from the dock to Porphyry Point where you will find the lighthouse, out buildings and the red chairs. Sit and relax on these red chairs and enjoy unobstructed views of Lake Superior and the Sleeping Giant.
