Red Chairs – Fort St. Joseph – The Warf are located on St. Joseph Island, 46 miles (74 km) south on Sault Ste Marie in Ontario’s Algoma Country. Settle in to these chairs and lookout at the St Mary River and Lake Huron. This is also a National Historic Site that was once a booming community of soldiers, Aboriginal people and fur traders. Walk among the ruins of the fort where the War of 1812 began.
“The red chair experience is all about connecting visitors with nature in Canada’s most unique and treasured places. Whether it’s a quiet place to enjoy an awe-inspiring view or an “I made it!” marker at the end of a rugged hike, a red chair offers you a place to relax and truly discover the best that Parks Canada has to offer.” ~ Parks Canada.
