The Historic Ironwood Theatre is located in Ironwood in Michigan’s Gogebic County. The theatre offers an incredible array of local, regional and national live performance, musical acts and films. Originally built in 1928 as a vaudeville and silent movie palace it has now been restored to it’s former glory through the efforts of the non-profit cultural organization, staff and countless volunteers. There is an elaborate mural covering the three panels of the proscenium was painted when the theatre first opened by William Hasenberg. It had been restored to it’s original state after being painted over in blue paint in the 70s. This grand historic theatre seats 732 on the main floor and in the balcony including a wheelchair accessible area.
