Fourteen Mile Point Lighthouse is located 19 miles (30.5km) northeast of Ontonagon in Michigan’s Ontonagon County. The lighthouse in only accessible by a strenuous 12 mile (19.3km) round trip day hike on the shoreline or best viewed from a boat. It was built in 1894 to help aid water traffic from Ontonagon to Houghton though today it is in deteriorated conditions. Having been left abandoned and succumb to fire, the ruins of this remote lighthouse are haunting to witness. The lighthouse is now privately owned and the grounds are open.
