Black Creek Nature Sanctuary Hiking Trail is located near Calumet in Michigan’s Houghton County. This is a 3.4 mile (5.5 km) out and back trail provides varied landscapes and 1500 feet of Lake Superior shoreline. It runs along three creeks, past active beaver dams, a lagoon and through wildlife.

Travel directions: On the north end of Calumet on US-41 turn west onto M-203 for 1.25 miles (2 km) to Tamarack Waterworks Road and turn right. Travel 2.5 miles (4 km) to Cedar Bay Road until the Black Creek Trailhead sign on the right.
