Pancake Bay is located in Pancake Bay Provincial Park in Ontario’s Algoma Country. This is a 2 mile (3.2km) long sandy beach on the shore of Lake Superior. With the shelter of this bay and shallow waters, it offers slightly warmer temperatures from the lake. For those touring with furry travel companions, there is a section of this beach that is dedicated to dogs. The parks offers camping with easy access to the beach. This area of Lake Superior is known as the “graveyard of the Great Lakes” where the Edmund Fitzgerald sunk in 1975. Hiking trails will lead you to lookouts to view it in all it’s grandeur.
