Laughing Whitefish State Scenic Site located in Michigan’s Alger County was originally established as of 1965 and is known for having one of the tallest waterfalls in Michigan. Laughing Whitefish State Scenic Site is on the southern shores of Lake Superior along U.S. Highway M-24. Laughing Whitefish State Scenic Site features a “slide-like” waterfalls. The park offers picnicking, three observation decks, and 2.5 miles (4.0 km) of hiking trails.

There is no campground at Laughing Whitefish State Scenic Site but there is a hand pump with drinking water available and a picnic area. During the winter season the scenic site is only accessible by snowshoe and what you can do is limited however it is close to the communities of Munising and Marquette.
