The James Duncan Nature Trail is located in the Big Trout Bay Nature Reserve in Neebing in Ontario’s Superior Country just southwest of Thunder Bay. The James Duncan Nature Trail provides hikers with an opportunity to experience spectacular views out over Lake Superior and the wonders of this 1,000 hectare (2,500 acre) nature reserve that is owned and managed by the Nature Conservancy of Canada. The trail is a 6 mile (9.8 km) hike, including the return trip on two spur trails. This well marked trail ranges from easy flat terrain to challenging steep sections.
Parking is available at the Little Trout Bay Conservation Area (north trailhead) and off of Memory Road (south trailhead). A short wetland interpretive trail is located at the Memory Road parking lot.
