George Crosby Manitou State Park located 18 miles (29 km) from Silver Bay in Minnesota’s Cook County was originally established as of 1955 and is known for George Crosby Manitou State Park is on the west shores Lake Superior along U.S. highway 61. George Crosby Manitou State Park features scenic views, wildlife, and waterfalls. Some of the main things to do in George Crosby Manitou state park include hiking, camping, and paddling. The park is open year-round daily from 8 am to 10 pm and has a campground for those looking for accommodations.

The park offers secluded, remote sites ranging from 1/2 to 4 1/2 miles from parking area. Many sites are along the Manitou River and 4 of the sites are near Benson Lake. There is no onsite facilities and all the campsites are available for tenting only. It is only pack in pack out garbage system where you do not dispose of your own garbage in the park but take it with you to dispose of elsewhere.
