Silver Bay is located in Minnesota’s Lake County. The main routes in Silver Bay are Highway 61, Outer Drive and Penn Boulevard. The city has a population of 1,776 and was founded in 1954. Silver Bay is known for its amazing trail systems – Gitchi Gami Bike Trail, Superior National Hiking Trail, cross-country ski trails, well-groomed ATV and Snowmobile, and the Lake Superior Kayak Safe Harbor. Black Beach is a must see when traveling along the shores of Lake Superior. Silver Bay also boasts a beautiful 9-hole scenic and challenging golf course, and a full service Marina with over 100 slips. Silver Bay is also the access point to the Superior National Forest Scenic Byway, the shortest route between Lake Superior and the Iron Range, and is the only community centrally located between the historic Split Rock Lighthouse State Park just a few miles away and Tettegouche State Park. Silver Bay has all your amenity needs and is a quiet hidden gem along the North Shore of Lake Superior.
