Carlton Peak Trail is located near Tofte in Minnesota’s Cook County. This is a 7 mile (11.3 km) out and back trail within Temperance River State Park. It’s a beautiful hike along the Temperance River and up to the top of Carlton Peak that grants visitors scenic views of Lake Superior and the valley below. The trail is relatively flat at first until you get closer to Carlton Peak and ascend it’s 325 elevation the terrain gets more rocky. Leashed dogs allowed.
