Barton Bay Wildlife Trail is located in Greenstone’s Geraldton in Ontario’s Superior Country. This is a 2.4 mile (4 km) loop trail that takes hikers through a rehabilitated area, the Kenogamisis Golf Course’s back 9 and along the shores of Barton Bay on Kenogamisis Lake. A viewing platform on the shoreline provides an ideal place to sit and enjoy the cool breeze blowing off the lake and take a break. There are many opportunities for wildlife viewing on this trail. Lookout for a variety of waterfowl, hunting raptors, moose, muskrat, and beavers.
Travel directions: While traveling on Highway 11, turn north onto Michael Power Boulevard (Hwy 584) then take the first right onto Barrick Drive. The trailhead is located on the top of the hill with ample parking at the Geraldton Interpretive Centre.
