The Houghton County Historical Museum 15 acre Complex is located in Lake Linden Michigan. It was once the site of the biggest copper mining operation in North America. Today stands a museum that commemorates the significance that the mining industry had to the area. Along with the museum, this historical complex also includes the Lake Linden & Torch Railroad, a schoolhouse, a WPA era log cabin and a genealogical research facility. The museum itself has three floors that exhibit the local mining, logging and cultural history. Train rides on the steam locomotive are available on weekends during the season.

Hours of Operation: Mid-June – Sept Tues-Sat 12:00pm-4:00pm
