Miners Beach is located approximately 6.5 miles (10.5kms) from Munising within the Pictured Rock National Lakeshore in Michigan’s Alger County. This is a sandy beach on the shore of Lake Superior. This beach is one of the most popular and scenic along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore so popular in fact, that Kid Rock filmed the music video for “Born Free” on the shores of Miners Beach. It’s an excellent spot for swimming, picnicking and launching your sea kayak from and exploring the lakeshore. Nearby attractions you shouldn’t miss while in the area are the Miners Castle formation and Miners Falls.
