The Ashland Ore Dock Mural is located in Ashland in Wisconsin’s Ashland County. Ashland is know as the “Historic Mural Capital of Wisconsin”. Ashland Ore Dock Mural was painted in 2009 and is part of the Ashland Mural Walk. The mural beautifully depicts the historic 1,800 foot Ore dock that was built in 1916 and utilized by the Soo Line Railroad to transport iron ore. The top portion of the mural is the Ore Dock itself and below it are 21 separate paintings that illustrate the various uses and history of it over the years. Guided mural trolley tours are available in August where you can see and learn about the history of each colorful mural. There is also a Self-Guided Mural Walk Tour Book available at the Ashland Historical Museum.
