Sturgeon River Campground is located 6 miles (9.6 km) north of Sidnaw in Michigan’s Houghton County. There are 9 tent campsites along the Sturgeon River and in the Sturgeon River Gorge Wilderness. This campground provides ample opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast including hiking and paddling. The Sturgeon River is 27 miles (43.3 km) long. Non-motorized water vessels can be used during the high flow period occurring usually between April 15 to June 1. During periods or low flow, the river is deemed mostly not canoeable.
