Slate Island Brewing Company is located in Terrace Bay (approx. 2 hours east of Thunder Bay) in Ontario’s Superior Country. It is a small craft brewery on the northern shore of Lake Superior. They love to experiment with different beers. They are just starting out in their first year of operation – currently selling retail only. Once COVID restrictions are lifted, they look forward to introducing the tap room and patio, featuring the view of the Terrace Bay Lighthouse and of course their namesake Slate Islands out on the beautiful Lake Superior.
Slate Island Brewing Company will also be featuring quirky historical brew tours, where you can witness not only how their beers are made, but also a glimpse of local history through stories and artifacts, as well as featured local artists in the neighbouring lighthouse gallery. They will be offering special event bookings, custom brews, and unique merchandise for sale, and more! They also launched a recycling program and payout 15 cents on each of their bottles, or other clear unbranded bottles returned.
