There is plenty to offer for visitors being nestled between Lake Independence and Lake Superior. Those looking for fishing opportunities will find that Big Bay is a fishing mecca anytime of year. Anyone will enjoy water activities including boating, paddling, swimming, water skiing. Big Bay is not only for experiences on the water however. Being surrounded by the McCormick Wilderness and the Escanaba River State Forest there is plenty of hiking and biking trails.

Visit and stay at the historical Big Bay Point Lighthouse that now operates as a Bed and Breakfast. Another historical aspect of Big Bay is that was the location for parts of the filming of the 1959 film “Anatomy of a Murder” that was based on an actual murder and trail that occurred in Big Bay in 1952.
